Under Armour Curry 1 & 2 ‘MVP Pack’

Release Date: August 10, 2016

On May 10, 2016, Stephen Curry was awarded his second consecutive MVP award for the 2015-16 NBA season, becoming the first player in NBA history to be voted unanimously. It was a historic year for Curry, as he not only led the league but also set a new record for the most three-pointers made in a single season, with 402—breaking his own previous record. He became the first and only player to achieve this feat and also won the scoring title while shooting an impressive 50-40-90.

To commemorate this remarkable achievement, Under Armour released a special double sneaker pack featuring the Curry 1 and Curry 2 on August 10, 2016. Both pairs are designed with a black and gold theme and come housed in a special box that contains both sneakers. The Curry 1 mirrors the design of the MVP edition from the previous 2014-15 season, with the same color blocking and gradient effect, but now featuring graphic text throughout the back half of the shoe. The Curry 2 showcases a gradient effect that transitions from black to gold, with additional gold accents on the sock liner, gold speckles on the midsole and outsole, and a special gold ‘MVP’ logo pressed into the tongue of the left shoe.

The Curry 1 ‘MVP Pack’ made its on-court debut on May 11, 2016, during Game 5 of the 2016 Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers. In a 132-125 victory, Curry scored 29 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and hit 5 three-pointers. The Curry 2 ‘MVP Pack’ debuted on June 16, 2016, in Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, a game the Warriors lost 115-101. Curry recorded 30 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 6 three-pointers.
