Under Armour Curry 1 ‘Home’
Release Date: February 13, 2015
In 2013, Stephen Curry signed a landmark shoe deal with Under Armour, after Nike fumbled its opportunity to retain him. Reports surfaced that during Nike’s pitch meeting, Curry’s name was mispronounced, and the presentation included recycled slides from Kevin Durant’s pitch deck, ultimately leading to his decision to join Under Armour.
In his first seasons with the brand, Curry wore the Under Armour Anatomix Spawn and Under Armour ClutchFit Drive before finally unveiling his first signature shoe—the Curry 1. He debuted the model on January 9, 2015, in a home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, wearing the ‘Underdog’ colorway. Four days later, on January 13, he showcased the ‘Home’ colorway in a matchup against the Utah Jazz.
The Curry 1 introduced Under Armour’s latest performance technology, featuring a Charged Foam midsole, which added an extra layer of foam cushioning on top of the brand’s Micro G technology. The upper also debuted anaFoam, a lightweight material with built-in support pieces, constructed from foam and compression-molded fabric, designed for enhanced comfort and stability.
The ‘Home’ colorway, the official launch edition, was released on February 13, 2015. It incorporated the Golden State Warriors’ primary colors—a blue and yellow upper, complemented by a white midsole and outsole.
