A historic moment arrived on December 14, 2021, when Stephen Curry etched his name atop the record books by sinking his 2,974th career three-pointer at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks. He accomplished this feat while wearing the Curry 9 ‘2974’, a special-edition sneaker designed to commemorate the milestone.
To honor this achievement, Curry Brand released a limited, individually numbered run of 2,974 pairs of the Curry 9 ‘2974’—symbolizing each three-pointer Curry had made to set the record.
Bay Area fans were given an exclusive early opportunity to purchase the shoe on June 28, 2022, at the Warriors Store inside Chase Center, ahead of its worldwide release on UA.com on July 1, 2022.
The Curry 9 ‘2974’ features a teal upper base with gold accents, complemented by soft pink detailing on the midsole, evoking a sense of royalty as Curry entered an echelon of his own. From this moment forward, every three-pointer he makes extends his own record. Each pair was packaged with an individually numbered commemorative card, and the special-edition box included custom-printed tissue paper. Additionally, a limited apparel collection and exclusive packaging were made available to friends and family, along with a regional release in Asia.
