Released as a limited edition on March 7, 2021, coinciding with the 2021 NBA All-Star Weekend, the Curry 8 ‘International Women’s Day’ garnered significant attention. Stephen Curry debuted the shoes on-court during the Three-Point Contest, where he set an event-record score of 31 points in the first round. In the final round, Curry scored 28 points, narrowly defeating Utah’s Mike Conley, who tallied 27 points, by making his final two shots. Later that weekend, Curry contributed to Team LeBron’s victory over Team Durant in the All-Star Game, helping secure a 170-150 win with a stat line of 28 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 8 three-pointers.
